Our Team

We come from different backgrounds and disciplines, but share a commitment to thoughtful collaboration, intentional craftsmanship, and bringing ideas to life together.

Terry Bottenfield

Terry founded the company in 1982 and has led its vision for over 40 years, building a reputation driven by repeat clients and referrals. Introduced to the trades by his grandfather, a third-generation Minnesota plumber, Terry developed a strong work ethic and commitment to quality early on. His background in carpentry and cabinet making led him to pursue his general contracting license in the early 1980s. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife Vicki and their three children, and is an avid surfer and waterman.

CEO/Founder

Jordan Bottenfield

Jordan has been a partner in the company since 2010, though he’s been around the field from a young age. After graduating from Westmont College with a degree in Business and Economics, he helped modernize the company through technology and innovation. He leads the Carpinteria office and the custom fabrication studio opened in 2013, producing the millwork and fine finish details featured throughout the firm’s projects. Outside of work, Jordan enjoys time with his wife Noelie and their bernedoodle Hazel, along with surfing, golfing, and softball.

VP, Business Development
Director of Construction

Steve Hammer

Steve has been part of the team since 2015 and brings over 20 years of hands-on construction experience. Before joining the company, he ran his own general contracting business specializing in structural concrete, framing, and finish work. Today, he leads construction crews, coordinates schedules, and oversees job site quality control. Outside of work, Steve enjoys dirt biking, snowboarding, and spending time outdoors.

Financial Controller/Office Manager

Kimberly Kiley

Kimberly has been part of the Bottenfield family since 2013 and keeps the financial side of projects organized and transparent. She manages monthly billing, subcontractor invoices, lien releases, lender coordination, and payment requests to keep clients informed throughout construction. Outside of work, she is a talented theatre performer and production stage manager at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center.
